When asked why she has chosen a career in real estate and what she thinks makes an outstanding professional in the demanding Greenwich real estate market here is what she has concluded, having lived in Greenwich for thirty years and being a Realtor for over fifteen years. “A top-notch Realtor has a healthy dose of patience, persistence and a sense of adventure and possibility.” Meri loves meeting new people and helping their requirements come together for a positive outcome. Buyers and sellers are busy people, and many activities vie for their attention. A thorough market knowledge, cutting edge media and technology information, outstanding negotiating skills and marketing ability are a given. Earning a relationship built on trust should be the goal.
Meri was born in Helsinki, Finland into a diplomatic family. Her parents spoke a dozen languages and Meri speaks six. She grew up in Tokyo, Japan and has lived in Sweden, Holland, China, Hong Kong, Iraq, and Brazil, which is why she brings an international expertise and a multi-cultural sensitivity to her real estate practice. She met and married her husband in Manhattan and joined Tiffany and Company, becoming one of their youngest Vice Presidents, in charge of the Far East Division, and launching the Elsa Peretti jewelry line. She left to start a family and moved to Greenwich, Connecticut, continuing as a director and strategic planner for Angela Cummings Jewelry Design, Inc. until Angela’s retirement.
Her two sons attended both public and private schools, and she and her husband have been involved with Brunswick School, Greenwich High School and Harvard University for many years. She is currently on the Standards and Ethics Committee of the Greenwich Association of Realtors and a volunteer as one of the reading specialists at the Boys and Girls Club.
Meri has extensive knowledge about real estate issues in Greenwich, town activities, as well as a vast roster of legal, financial and professional services.
On the home front, she can often be found on beautiful Long Island Sound boating and picnicking with family and friends.
